Our interdisciplinary curriculum integrates design thinking, project-based learning and technology to encourage creativity, problem-solving and collaboration among its students just as one might find in Silicon Valley. In short, d.tech exists to teach students the knowledge, skills, and mindsets necessary to contribute to the common good, and discover their creative purpose beyond the classroom.
Design Thinking
By using the tools of Design Thinking across all academic subject areas, and by partnering with teachers, classmates, and professionals, d.tech students learn to create the change they want to see in the world.
“Design Thinking is not just a human-centered problem solving process. It is also a capacity building strategy. By teaching design thinking all four years at d.tech, students are able to identify and solve problems, develop a sense of optimism and self-efficacy, and have creative impact on their environment to make the world a better place.”

cost of tuition
As a free, California public charter school, d.tech does not charge tuition. The school receives state funding per student, plus financial support from our d.tech community to fulfill our mission.

student enrollment
New students enroll for the first time through a lottery process. The intake is almost exclusively for 9th grade. Current students reenroll in-house each year for the following fall.

Internships for upper grades provide students with numerous opportunities to work with industry partners and professional mentors before graduation.
